Your baby is as big as a peach and weights around 200g. Her intestines are moving back through the umbilical cord to the abdomen. Her vocal cords are developed and since your baby can move she might move her thumb towards her mouth and start sucking it!
Your baby is now about 12 cm and he’s as big as a fist. He starts urinating in the amniotic fluid and small soft baby hair called “lanugo” starts covering his body. He can inhale the amniotic fluid into his lungs.
Keep your pregnancy weight gain normal. Keep in mind that pregnant women are allowed to gain 1kg per month. gaining weight quickly will result with the appearance of stretch marks and back pain. Your nose might be stuffed due to the hormonal changes and increase in the blood flow.

At this gestational age your baby weighs around 240g and he is about 15cm long. His brain is developing the areas specialized in taste, hearing, vision and touch. A protective substance called Vernix Caseosa starts to form all around your baby’s body protecting him from the amniotic fluid
Now at the middle of your pregnancy, you will have your second trimester ultrasound. This ultrasound will determine approximately the weight of the baby, measures his leg bone, abdominal diameter and checks if the baby is in good health.
At this pregnancy week, you’re feeling at your top these days, you’re not yet big and early pregnancy symptoms have disappeared. You have only few minor troubles to deal with. Enjoy your trimester and relax.
